The Foundation "Giorgio de Marchis Bonanni d'Ocre - Contemporary Art documents - ONLUS" is born in L'Aquila with incorporation deed on October 28, 2003. Later on June 16, 2004 region of Abruzzi recognized the legal personality with decree n. 114. Its founder is Giorgio de Marchis Bonanni d'Ocre , historian and art critic, emeritus superintendent of the National Modern Art Gallery of Rome and emeritus director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Japan.
The Foundation office is hosted in the building "de Marchis", already known as "De Simeonibus" (XVI-XVII century) in L'Aquila, which is the home of the family de Marchis. The Foundation aim is to preserve, increase and keep available the Library materials.
The Archives and the Library materials are composed by an original core of mail between Giorgio de Marchis and many leading figures of our cultural life, totally about 200.000 units... Read more
